182 entries submitted for Malta Eurosong 2009
PBS has announced that 182 entries were submitted for Malta’s Eurosong 2009. The entries were received at the PBS offices in G’Mangia on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th October till 1700CET.
UKAM - the union of Maltese singers and songwriters - proposed some minor changes to the rules of Eurosong 2009. Upon continuous discussions, UKAM and PBS agreed that the number of entries proceeding to the televised phase would drop to 56 entries (instead of 80, as originally proposed by the Eurosong Advisory Team).
The 56 entries will compete in a televised show entitled “Euroshow Box” produced by Aceline Entertainment.
“Euroshow Box” will go on air for 8 weeks with 7 entries each week, on the following dates:
8th, 15th and 29th November 2008
6th, 13th and 20th December 2008
3rd and 10th January 2009
The third and final phase of “Eurosong 2009″ will be held on Saturday 7th February. 20 entries will take part in a one-singer one-song final. Only 3 entries will reach the SUPER FINAL, to be held on the same night. Judges will select the 3 Super Finalists. Televoting will determine the winning entry out of the 3 Super Finalists.
