The Gozo Public Library has invited all Gozo Heads of Schools in Gozo to participate in a library orientation visit programme for students. Last year over 1,200 Gozitan students participated in this programme.

The Gozo Public Library has invited all Gozo Heads of Schools in Gozo to participate in a library orientation visit programme for students. Last year over 1,200 Gozitan students participated in this programme. The first visit in this year’s programme was held on Tuesday 8th of October by Year 6 students from Mattew Sultana Primary School in Xagħra.

A library official explained that the aim of these visits was to inform students about the various library facilities while encouraging them to start reading at a young age.

Students acticely participated in the programme by reading prose and poetry, and by playing musical instruments such as the piano and violin. About forty students were accompanied by teachers and some of their parents.

Other similar visits by various students presently attending primary and secondary schools within in Gozo are planned to be held in the coming months.
