On Tuesday the staff and students of Erin Serracino Inglott, Cospicua Girls’ Secondary celebrated the World Teachers’ Day. From the very start of the school day a festive environment welcomed students to school.

Banners were hung in the yards and during morning assembly the headmaster James Camilleri explained the aim of this activity – appreciating fully the role of the teacher as educators who have the well being of students at heart.

“It is crucial for you, students, to be appreciative and grateful towards your teachers, who are fully dedicated to your betterment and advancement. You students are lucky to be surrounded by professionals who truly love and care for you,” Camilleri added.

Meanwhile, whilst delivering the thought for the day, Karl Wright, a Religion teacher, stressed the point that a teacher is a representative of an extremely important profession – a profession from which all other professions are initiated. In a short message to the teaching staff, Wright expressed his gratitude on behalf of the students and the school and appealed to one and all to persevere. Addressing the students he urged them to appreciate all the work carried out by teachers and using the words of St.George Preca described the teachers as the source of all good.

Later on in the day after a short reception held for all the members of the staff, both students and teachers spent a pleasant hour in sport activities – football and volleyball.

The Headmaster, James Camilleri expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all teachers who contributed in making this activity a complete success.
