Malta will be singing in the 17th place, one place before last in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow to be held on the 12th May. Malta drew the first of three wildcards in the Eurovision running order which means that it had the chance to pick its own starting position in the first semi-final. This year Malta will be represented by Chiara with the song “What If We”.

The first Semi-Final will see the following running order of songs:
1. Montenegro
2. Czech Republic
3. Belgium
4. Belarus
5. Sweden
6. Armenia
7. Andorra
8. Switzerland
9. Turkey
10. Israel
11. Bulgaria (chosen with a wildcard)
12. Iceland
13. FYR Macedonia
14. Romania
15. Finland
16. Portugal (chosen with a wildcard)
17. Malta (chosen with a wildcard)
18. Bosnia & Herzegovina

Joe Dimech from PBS, head of the Maltese Eurovision delegation, presented the official video for Chiara’s song to the organizers.

Regardless of whether Chiara makes it to the final round, Maltese televiewers will still get the opportunity to vote on the final night.

The 42 participating countries will cast their vote in the Final in the following order, determined by draw: Spain, Belgium, Belarus, Malta, Germany, Czech Republic, Sweden, Iceland, France, Israel, Russia, Latvia, Montenegro, Andorra, Finland, Switzerland, Norway, Bulgaria, Lithuania, United Kingdom, FYR Macedonia, Slovakia, Greece, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Ukraine, Turkey, Albania,Serbia, Cyprus, Poland, the Netherlands, Estonia, Portugal, Romania, Ireland, Denmark, Moldova, Slovenia, Armenia, Hungary and finally Azerbaijan.
