A drifting yacht was towed back to safety by the Armed Forces of Malta on Friday.

In a statement, the AFM said that a helicopter was dispatched to locate the vessel following a distress signal received by satellite at the Rescue Co-Coordination Centre.
The three French and US nationals on board were assisted by two patrol boats sent to the location of the yacht.
The crew of the 16-metre long yacht had reported a lack of power and water supplies.
