Air Malta announces daily flights to Tripoli
Air Malta has announced it will be adding its sixth weekly frequency on Tripoli as from Wednesday 18th April and another weekly flight as from Friday 4th May - thus commencing a daily service to the Libyan capital.
Commenting on this announcement Peter Davies, Chief Executive of the airline said, “This is good news especially for the Maltese and Libyan communities. Over the last months, since the re-start of the services to Tripoli last 28th November, we have registered a steady increase in passenger demand. This summer we expect to carry around 30,000 passengers to/from Tripoli.”
“The increase in flights between Libya and Malta is another important step in our efforts to continue facilitating travel between the two countries and mainland Europe. Our flights from Tripoli are operating at times that facilitate onward flight connections with other Air Malta services operating to Europe”, added Mr Davies.
Air Malta added that it is also finalising plans to re-start operations to Benghazi. A formal announcement will be made in due course.
