Hamrun man admits setting fire to a bar and assault

A 23-year-old man from Hamrun was sentenced to two years imprisonment suspended for four years and fined €100 after admitting in court on Monday to having set fire to a bar and assaulting his partner.
Marius Scerri made his plea before trial by jury in which he was accused of having set fire to Saint’s Bar in Mriehel in the early hours of July 8, 2006 after an argument with the mother of his child, Isaura Magri and the bar owner, Roberta Cutajar.
