The Malta Rugby Youth 7’s league round four matches sponsored by Gasan Mamo, were played on Sunday morning down at Marsa rugby pitch under perfect weather conditions.

The U13’s fixture was played first with Falcons A playing against Alligators, this game was well contested by Alligators team as they defended very strongly and had several good running attacks.

Ryan Borg was the first player to score for Falcons A, and then Fabian Sacco got a brace also soon after, half time score 15 – 0. Toby Hijnett for Alligators scored a fine try after half time as he supported and stayed strong to dive over the line; Falcons finished the match the stronger team though as Dominic Attard managed to score and Fabian Sacco getting his hatrick at the end, FT 25 – 5.

Kavallieri took on Alligators in the first match of the U15’s league; this was a very close game from start to finish, Alex Hijnett for Alligators scored first with a powerful run, then Kavallieri replied back through Thomas Aquilina by side stepping two defenders before going over, half time 5 – 5.

No team gave an inch in defence in the second half as both team were working hard for the win, a draw would have been a fair result with all the effort both sides put in, however Alligators had the final say as Alex Hijnett again scored a well worked try, FT 10 – 5.

In the second match Falcons A played against Alligators, this game was in the balance till the second half, as the first 7 minutes was very close.

Ayrton Aguis, Leo Grima and Italo Quelch scoring good tries for Falcons, where as Alligators had Anthony Bailey and Jean Soler scoring also good tries, half time 15 – 10.
Alligators scored first in the second 7 minutes through Redeemer Bailey but then three tries by Falcons secured the game, Italo and a brace from Ayrton finished the game at 30 – 15.

The last match saw Falcons A taking on Kavallieri. Kavallieri are still growing as a team and have new players coming through, which means good thing are ahead for this youth club. Falcons A made sure in this game that there would be no close result as they went in 15 – 0 at half time by running and attacking at every opportunity, tries scored by Ayrton Aguis, Leo Grima and Italo Quelch.

Two further tries from Italo and Ayrton sealed the win in the second half, which was a confident and good display of attacking rugby, FT 25 – 0.
