Double Taxation Agreement signed with Uruguay

On Friday, at the Embassy of Malta in Rome, Ambassador of Malta to Italy, Walter Balzan, and Gustavo Alvarez, Ambassador of Uruguay, in the presence of Mr Francis J. Vassallo, Special Envoy of the Government of Malta, responsible for negotiations of Tax Treaties with Latin American countries, signed a Double Taxation Agreement on behalf of their respective Governments.
The Government said this agreement is particularly significant since it is the first tax treaty signed by the Government of Malta with a Latin American country.
Both Ambassadors expressed their will that this agreement will stimulate further economic growth between the two countries.
