The 24 contestants for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest have been announced by the PBS on Saturday morning. Fabrizio Faniello, two time winner of the same contest (2001 and 2006) stands out among the slew of relatively new faces and a handful of repeat contenders.

These performers will compete in the preliminary televised show on 11 February, after which 16 songs will advance to the final on 12 February. They will then be judged by an equally valued panel of professional judges and a public televote. The winner will eventually represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest which will be held in Germany in May 2011.

The 24 songs appearing at Malta’s 2011 Eurovision selection are:
