Retail price index up by 0.3%- NSO
In November, the Retail Price Index increased by 0.30 per cent, from 102.39 in October 2010 to 102.70, the National Statistics Office (NSO) said on Thursday.
This primarily reflected an increase of 3.83 per cent in the Clothing and Footwear Index. Increases were also observed in the Beverages and Tobacco Index, the Food Index and Household Equipment and House Maintenance Cost Index.
The main decrease in Retail price index was observed in the Transport and Communication Index, with a 0.59 per cent decrease, mainly due to lower airfares. Other decreases were then seen in the Recreation and Culture Index and the Other Goods and Services Index.
In November, the twelve-month moving average rate of inflation stood at 1.19 per cent, whereas the annual rate stood at 2.43 per cent, NSO concluded
