Five-year jail term for stealing paintings and furniture

43-year-old Paul Spagnol from San Ġwann was jailed for five years after he was found guilty to having stolen paintings, furniture and other items five years ago from a house in St Paul’s Bay.
The accused forced his way into the residence and parked his van inside the garage. He was able to make four trips to and from the house, taking away a vanful each time. The accused had already found buyers for the furniture but had not yet sold the paintings.
The accused was also found guilty of stealing cameras and computer-related equipment from Kappara and other items from a house in Sliema in 2005.
Meanwhile, 18-year-old Darryl Debono from Burmarrad was charged with seriously injuring James Schembri in the eye on 18th September in Paceville.
