Two men charged with attempted jewellery theft

21-year-old Charles Ryan Vella and 19-year-old Christopher Philip Agius, both from Paola, were charged with the attempted theft of jewellery from an elderly woman.
The police reported that the attempted theft occurred at around 18:00 CEST on 22nd August in Valletta when the two young men tried to steal jewellery off 64-year-old Maria Muscat.
Charles Ryan Vella was also accused of having been part of a group that stole a handbag at around 15:00 CEST on 20th August in Valletta. The handbag contained money, an ID card, credit cards, keys and a memory card.
Christopher Philip Agius was also charged with being a relapser. Both young men were remanded in custody.
