A successful School Tuck Shop charity Fun Run
For the nineteenth consecutive year, the students of St. Theresa College Girls’ JL collected donations for Voluntary groups. Students did a lot to encourage people to donate monetary contributions towards charity in aid of Caritas (Malta), Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Multiple Sclerosis Society and the school benevolent fund. A handsome sum of €10,000 was collected.
The theme as usual was ‘ Nigri Biex Nghin … Ghinni Habib’, ( I’ll run to help …Help me friend!). This campaign started four weeks ago and ended on Wednesday 19th November 2008 with a symbolic FUN RUN of 2.0 Km.
On this occasion some 850 students coming from Lorenzo Manche’ Sch., St. Aloysious Collage, San Andrea School, Maria Regina College Girls’, Lily of the Valley Mosta, Sacred Heart Girls’ Sch., St. Theresa College Boys St. Venera and St. Theresa College Girls, JL Mriehel made this a memorable day from start to finish!
This fun run was also attended by the beneficiaries namely, Vice Director Fr. Karm Farrugia for Caritas (Malta), Ms.Jostte Falzon, Chairperson, for Cystic Fibrosis and Ms. L.Gusman, President, for Multiple Sclerosis Society. Mr.Robert Borg, head of school presided this event in the presence of Mr. Frank Fabri, Principle of St. Theresa College. The entertaining part was highlighted by a display of St. Theresa JL gymnastic group, school students singers Elena Sammut, Francesca Zarb, Cherilys Camilleri, hip hop singers Becks and Siconx, Water fall Dancers and a group of young break dancers with special guest Dario Bezzina. There was also an art exhibition held by the students and their teachers.
The St. Theresa teachers and administration together with the direction of Pembroke Athleta - Athletic club gave a well organised FUN RUN race around the school including the entertaining activities. The Police force and the Teachers race officials gave us an excellent job. Thanks to Balzan and B’Kara local councils for their help.

Jeanelle Camilleri of class 4.3, who collected a handsome sum of €128 was presented with a trophy and a t-shirt by Paul & Waters Perfumery. She was declared as the most dedicated Charity fun runner. Mr. Saviour Desira gave a handsome donation towards this charity event.
The sun collected was divided as follows: Caratis Malta €4365, Cystic Fibrosis Trust € 2910, Multiple Sclerosis Society, €485 and the Mriehel School Benevolent Fund (that assist students with special needs) €1940.The Directors of the Voluntary Institutions and Head of school were presented with these donations. Also present for this event were the Directors of voluntary Groups, the School Council, the School Management Team and Teachers.
