Maltese embassy in Vienna participates in International Charity Bazaar
On Saturday 6th December, the Embassy of Malta in Vienna participated for the first time in the annual United Nations Women’s Guild International Bazaar. During the one-day event, the Vienna Embassy promoted Malta and raised money for children in need throughout the world. The Embassy raised an impressive 3,400 Euros, all of which will go to charity.
Participation in the event provided an excellent opportunity for Malta’s Embassy in Vienna to promote Malta and to showcase and sell quality Maltese products to the Austrian public as well as to the international and diplomatic community living in Vienna while, at the same time, raise money for children in need.
The International Bazaar has increased in popularity over the years and now attracts around 30,000 visitors in one day. Visitors to the Malta stand were offered freshly made ‘imqaret’, Maltese red and white wine, olive oil and other local products.
A number of Maltese companies responded generously to the Vienna Embassy initiative. The companies that provided products for the event were Consolidated Biscuits, Delicata Wines, Farsons, Magro Brothers Savina Products range, Marsovin, Meridiana Wines, Mdina Glass and Wardija Olive Oil.
Vienna International Airport made a generous donation to cover costs related to participation and Air Malta covered the costs of transporting the goods to Vienna. Tourist literature and other promotional material distributed to the hundreds of visitors to the Malta stand were provided by the Malta Tourism Authority.
Ambassador Christopher Grima and his wife together with the staff of the Embassy welcomed the visitors to the Maltese stand and encouraged them to buy Maltese products.
