Girl and woman seriously injured in separate accidents
A 10-year-old girl was critically injured late on Sunday evening in a road accident in Hal Far Road in Birzebbugia.
The police reported that the accident happened at around 21:45 CEST when a Hyundai Accent car driven by a 23-year-old man from Zurrieq and a Maruti Gypsy car driven by a 45-year-old man from Kalkara collided.
The girl, who was in the Maruti, was rushed to hospital where it was certified that she was seriously injured and in danger of dying. Both drivers were only slightly injured.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a 52-year-old woman was seriously injured when she was hit by a car early on Monday morning in St Paul’s Bay.
The police reported that the incident occurred at around 06:30 CEST in Triq il-Wileg in St Paul’s Bay when a Peugeot 205 car driven by a 60-year-old woman from Zebbug and a Skoda Felicia driven by a 25-year-old Nigerian woman living in St Paul’s Bay collided.
The driver of the Skoda lost control and swerved onto the pavement hitting a 52-year-old woman from Birkirkara who was walking along the pavement. The woman was taken to hospital where she was ceritified to be seriously injured but not in danger of dying.
