In the past few days, Mons Charles Scicluna, the Vatican Promoter of Justice of the Congregation of the Faith, met with various alleged victims of abuse by priests a number of years ago.

Mons Scicluna referred these alleged victims to the Response Team of the Archidiocese of Malta and encouraged them to collaborate in the investigations currently underway.

In a letter sent to Archbishop Paul Cremona, Mons Luis Ladaria, Secretary of the Congregation of Faith and Doctrine, wrote that the Congregation is “very grateful for the investigation which the Response Team of the Archidiocese of Malta is holding. The work of our Promoter of Justice will supplement the investigation of the Response Team, and is offered at this time as a means of support for an expeditious conclusion of the cases in hand.”
