Air Malta secures large Italian incentive group
Air Malta has recently managed to secure a large incentive group of 1,300 clients who came to Malta on specially organised charter flights from various Italian cities. Following Air Malta’s intense efforts, flexibility and attractive pricing offered to the group, the airline has managed to fend off intense competition from Italian destinations and secure this business.
The group’s travel to Malta was also made possible with the assistance given by the Malta Tourism Authority. This incentive group from Amplifon, a large Italian company that operates in the health sector by producing hearing aids, has been flown to Malta from Milan, Rome, Naples, Turin, Venice, Bologna and Catania.
The transportation of this group necessitated Air Malta to amend its schedule times thereby roping in additional flights over and above its normal schedule in order to meet the demands of this group.
“This initiative shows the level of flexibility that Air Malta has in handling groups business be they large or small and the efforts the airline makes to increase tourism arrivals in the shoulder months for the benefit of the local tourism industry. As the prospects for economic recovery improve, Air Malta and the MTA are making a concerted effort together to capture a larger share of the conference and incentive business for Malta”, said Dr Brock Friesen, Air Malta’s Chief Officer Commercial.
