The Curia has received 563 written contributions concerning its document on feasts.
In a statement, the Curia said that it assigned a scientific survey on Maltese feasts so as to know what these feasts mean to people and to inquire about their relationship with the Church and God also on days when they were not celebrating a Catholic feast.
The report was made by Professor Mario Vassallo and presented in February. The report is now being investigated to be published later.
Meetings with national organisations started to be held with the Curia in which the organisations’ correspondences are being discussed. Civil authorities will also be attending meetings. The Archdiocese is trying to attain a consensus.
Until the new document is officiated and published, the present systems will remain applicable.
