A record sum of €617,585 were collected on Friday during the Dar tal-Providenza Open Day in the 14th edition of this marathon.

The fund-raising marathon was organised by Radio RTK and started at 09:00 CET with huge crowds filling the tent in the parking space at the home.

Home director Fr Martin Micallef thanked the many volunteers who gave a helping hand, but especially the Maltese people, including emigrants who made donations through the internet, who once again showed their values of solidarity and generosity with Dar tal-Providenza. He said that the money collected will provide a better life to its residents.
