February deadline for exchanging Maltese coins

In terms of the Central Bank of Malta Act, the Maltese lira, cent and mil coins, which ceased to be legal tender after 31st January 2008, will not be exchangeable after 1st February 2010.
Until this date these coins are exchangeable only at the Central Bank of Malta Annexe, St James’s Counterguard, Valletta, from Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 13:00 CET.
The Central Bank of Malta will continue to exchange Maltese lira banknotes until 31st January 2018.
