Posted on November 10th, 2009
A man was hoisted to safety on a helicopter of the Italian Military Mission to Malta after falling and suffering fractures in a valley near the Victoria Lines in Gharghur, The Times reports.
The incident happened early Tuesday morning. According to the report, the 30-year old man was first assisted by rescuers of the Civil Protection Department and a former member of the Armed Forces of Malta who called the helicopter because of the difficult terrain, in view of Monday night’s rain.
The helicopter flew the man to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was given treatment, the report says.
