The 34th edition of L-Għanja tal-Poplu will be held at the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Phoenicia on Saturday 28th November. In this festival participants are encouraged to express themselves through their original songs in Maltese, in a friendly atmosphere.

After last year’s success, this year’s festival will again be unplugged, where all music will be live and only acoustical instruments will be permitted. This year besides singer-songwriters and bands the organising committee is inviting teams made up of an author and composer, who will choose singer/s and musician/s to interpret their song.

The festival rules can be found on www.ghanjafest.com were one can also watch video-clips of songs from L-Għanja tal-Poplu. The participating songs have to be submitted on Friday 23rd of October.

Proceeds from the festival will go towards the Richmond Foundation.

Last year, Brikkuni won the festival with their song L-Ufficcju. Walter Micallef and Frank O’Neill came in second and third place respectively.
