Lufthansa’s new complex spanning over more than 60,000square metres is progressing well with the first aircraft expected to arrive in December. This was explained to the press by finance minister Tonio Fenech during a visit he paid to the construction site.

Fenech said that in two years time the company would be employing some 700 people.

The new complex will comprise of an administration building and 3 hangars, two of which will be able to accommodate a wide-body aircraft each. The other hangar will be able to accommodate smaller crafts whilst the administration building is complemented with stores and workshops which will be in full operation by November.
